About

I live in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains of California with my husband, Mike. We are so happy to live in our small mountain town with views of redwoods, and the valley with its clear rivers and streams. Nature is often an inspiration in my work and Mike’s photography.

I’ve been working in porcelain for more than 30 years, focusing mostly on buttons, jewelry and other small items including ornaments.  I have made an annual tree ornament featuring our town since 1991 and have many collectors. What an honor to be part of a family’s holiday tradition!

Let me help you find just the right buttons to complete your next project, or design unique jewelry to accent your personal style!  Creating ornaments and favors to celebrate life’s most special events are especially satisfying projects.  I’d be happy to help you celebrate weddings, new babies and other joyous occasions with the handcrafted touch of porcelain! Feel free to contact me.  I’d love to hear from you!

This site will mostly focus on my play with clay and other creative projects. I’ll also show you a bit about our quaint little town and other places we visit. Who knows, you might even find a recipe or two as this new project evolves!

I appreciate most forms of art and craft and enjoy working in more than a few. If I’m not careful, I seem to get a bit distracted by new ideas and skills to try. I tend to get carried with making things and like to have a project in hand most of the time!

I believe that my first sale was when I was nine years old and brought simple beaded necklaces I had made to school and sold them to classmates for one dollar each! I spent my allowance on beading supplies and made earrings for my mom, one pair in every color, of course!

I learned to sew, embroider, knit and crochet from my mom. My mother-in-law taught me the art of tatting. Boy, did we ever laugh at my first lesson. She made it look like magic! My dad, taught me great appreciation for the tools and treasures within the walls of his cabinet maker’s garage workshop! What blessings they were in my life.
My husband has always encouraged my creative wanderings. Whether it is an interest in ceramics, stained glass or any number of projects, I can count on him to cheer me on! He, our two grown sons and their young families are my greatest blessings!

You will find more of my handcrafted porcelain buttons in my Etsy shop by clicking  here or in the Etsy link in the above menu.  Each piece is created individually by me from concept through shipping. It’s time to get back to the workshop to see what’s next! I hope you enjoy what I have to show you. I know that I have great pleasure in creating each piece!
